*shifty glance*
I'm not going into extreme amounts of detail because this is
a public site and someone could steal all this. If you want something in depth, contact me and let me know

Make sure you've read the latest 19 or all chapter before you
continue to read.
So, Edd and his magic. I'm only explaining this just to be
sure that you understand.
See, Edd used his magic to, first, fix all of Namine's
ruined pictures. Why? Well, it took him a while to realize that that was an
extremely cruel thing to make her do in the first place, and that it wasn't
even necessary. So he just used magic to fix them.
Seem far fetched?
Well, it's not much different than waving your wand, saying
"Oculus, repairo!" (I think I spelled that right.
I went to look it up in the book only to find that it's not in the scene I
expected it to be. Of course, I'm sure it's SOMEWHERE in the book, but I'm not
going to sit here all day looking for it)
at any rate, he used magic to fix Namine's pictures
and then to make Namine forget that she had even ruined them
which is a personal specialty of his; being able to go into
people's heads and rearange things. It's like Magik's Namine's/canon
Namine's/probably any Namine that isn't my Namine's ability to rearange
memories, but at a much larger scale. Because he can do it with memories, and
thoughts, and emotions (I'm debating on the emotion part...) It's like Shad, I
guess, but at a still larger scale because Shad can really only affect a
certain few people, and Edd can affect everyone.
He's thinking about doing it to you, right now.
Just kidding!
Anyway, so then he uses aformentioned powers to block all of
the thoughts and memories that Namine shouldn't have yet. I mean, I explained
that in the chapter. So...
Btw, that's what Vexen was confused about in the previous
chapter, with the "locks and spells".
Though, technically, the term "spells" is not
accurate. I don't use spells in my magic. I think I just phrased it like that
to make my life easier, though, or Edd's just trying to put it in terms that
they'll understand.
But spells isn't accurate at all. It's just that KH has such
a primitive understanding of magic, that I have trouble squeezing Edd and my
definition of magic in sometimes. Not that what KH defines magic as is bad,
it's just that it's tailored to being a video game, so that anything more
complicated than "Dark Thundaga" has it's definition a bit skewed.
That, and my definition isn't what people typically consider
magic. I mean, magik's magic (that sounds so funny) is some cross between Harry
Potter magic and Wizardry in Diane Duane's books. So, it's relatively simple.
But mine is more like... I don't know, some big
conglomeration of every single definition of magic I know. Admittedly, it is
lacking some Harry Potter elements, but it's not spell-based magic (such as the
magic you find in Harry Potter). It's something closer tailored to Wizardy, and
then more.
It's like... magic is when you bend the universe around you
so that it gives you what you want (such as Wizardry) but a bit less complex
and science-y and a bit more... natural.
That the right words in the right place at the right time
can cause something phenomenal to happen.
Then again, that's really just what Edd (and a few other of
my characters) use. I haven't developed other characters enough to deterimine
their kinds of magic, and I'm sure that when I eventually write the story,
there will be many different kinds.
But the idea of bending the universe around you to make
something happen is the idea that appeals to me the most, for some reason, and
that's where my magic comes from.
That's it.
Time to turn on Red and let Kairi rant at me.
