Trivia

aka collection of random crap

I TOOK IT DOWN FROM THE BLOG BECAUSE APPARENTLY THERE IS A PAGE LIMIT AND I'D RATHER HAVE PAGES FOR THE BOOKS THAN THIS USELESS-ISH TRIVIA PAGE

Terms (how I came up with them and stuff)

Memory Meltdowns – no clue where I got this from, actually. It… sounded cool. The words fit well together and… I don’t know. I just started using it all the time. It gets abbreviated to “meltdown” because “memory meltdown” is a mouthful. And I hate mouthfuls.

Kairi’s “my Sora” – something that started in an original draft of Falling to Pieces (I actually have this somewhere, I should post it…) and she says “Sora, my Sora, where have you gone?” Of course, the scene was cut, the line was cut, but the “my Sora” stayed. Granted, she only ever uses it if she’s ranting about him falling into darkness (so far, anyway) but…

Character Corners -- I know, you're thinking "how is this a term that is important?" Well, I suppose it isn't important, but... whatever.
This ACTUALLY originated from back when I was ten or so, and I ATTEMPTED drawing the characters from the 60 some-odd books I was attempting to write. Anyway, I had a a corner of my room where all the drawings were and I called it my "character corner". The term stayed around in my head, and now it's being used again! For a completely different purpose!!

Trivia

"Big Ugly", aka the giant Heartless crafted from Sora's nightmares who later became the wolf, was inspired by more than just the Dark Thorn of the KH series. There are actually a lot of Legend of Zelda inspired elements in this... boss. I suppose boss IS the proper term, it just feels weird
Any of you who have played Skyward Sword will know that "Big Ugly" is what Groose calls the Imprisoned. Why did I dub this boss that? No clue. However, "Big Ugly" and the Imprisoned share more than just a name. The moving fire that's somewhere in its design (and is most certainly in the Wolf's design) was inspired by the moving fire which the Imprisoned has running down its back. I only decided to make the fire red because... why make it all black?
There is one other Legend of Zelda inspired part of "Big Ugly", however. That would be the "battle mechanic" of using the chains that bind its feet to trip it so that you can attack its head. This was taken from Twilight Princess; the Twilight Igniter Fyrus (boss of the Goron Mines) is defeated this way, too.

Character trivia
(this is just the trivia you see on the Character Corner pages compiled in one spot – at the moment, anyway, and there are some extra details. Only here because I plan to change the “Random fact” whenever I update someone’s Character Corner.)

Sora’s Shadow has only existed (currently) for about a month and a half (excluding the time he spent in Sora’s heart)

Riku is not fond of orange juice

Namine is incapable of properly drawing Riku’s smile

Kairi doesn't like cats

Sora has a thing about personal space, and will panic if you’re too close to him for his liking.

Ven is actually not quite as good at sensing light as he is at sensing darkness, oddly enough.

Reviews I never replied to but have been bothering me for ages

Flightfoot’s review on ch10 of Falling to Pieces. “You didn't know that the portals are called Dark Corridors?”
This is a stupid thing to worry about after nearly two years, I know, but it’s bothered me enough that I’ve ranted my response to it off and on frequently and I have said answer memorized. So.
The thing is, I just never connected in my head that the “portals” Riku (Repliku) used were Dark Corridors. Which, playing CoM, is kind of easy to understand. They aren’t ever mentioned by name, and they are hardly used properly, too. Everyone just forms a dark corridor around themselves, and it makes it look a lot like teleporting. Honestly. Like, the only time I think anyone ever formed a dark corridor next to them and stepped through it is Floor 13 when Repliku launches himself out of a dark corridor at Marluxia.
*shrug*
on another note, KH2 and Days are the only two games to mention Dark Corridors by name, and I played Days after I started writing. Not sure how I missed it in KH2

KKBeckett’s review on ch31 of Falling to Pieces, concerning the fact Ansem never said “welcome to darkness”.
I read that review and I seriously almost cried, realizing that I indeed had managed to leave out the line that is almost Ansem’s catchphrase. I wanted to tear out my hair or something. Because that line, not only being the line Ansem says all the time during that battle, has actually sort of become a joke among my family (similar to “The BOULDER” from Avatar). It just—Ansem and his “DARKNESS” has become a joke among my family, actually. Like, even my mom gets it, and she’s not incredibly KH savvy.
So, I am very frustrated that I somehow missed it. However, it’s not like it’s something I can go fix (without it being UBERLY cheesy) so… whatever. I just wanted to say how frustrated I was that I missed it.
