the Meltdown Project

UPDATE, FOUR YEARS LATER, APRIL 2016:

I went through and like, properly did commentary for the Meltdown Project instead of just "lol I forget" at every other second.

And, uh, seeing I managed to pull up memories now I don't know why I said I forgot?? I must've just been lazy.

Anyway the new thing is here and you can read it cool:

(edit: the original is now Heckin Gone)

Not all the pictures are up, because blogspot lacks the cool "put pictures in a file" or whatever it is that posterous has. But it's got all the important pictures... (and it took forever to get them all up...)

UPDATE!
I CAN make the video player larger. I just have to mess with HTML

~

How long have I been working on this? Nearly a year, huh?

Urgghshdfsodh, I had a stupid description for the video, but thanks to that Merlin marathon, I can't remember a word of it...

I'll just sit and rant about it. Maybe something will come back to me.

So, this took me freaking forever. Getting Movie Maker to produce the effects I wanted was a pain in the butt a million times over.

Why?

Windows Movie Maker only has two tracks: Audio and Video. So getting video with the audio I wanted and yet also have the music in the background required, well, required about five different "projects" to produce one video. And those were just the PRIMARY ones. I had one for each Hellraiser Brigade segment (3) and one for the video as a whole.

Total, I had 27 projects. And that's not counting the ones I never saved.

Now, I won't go into length concerning how much WORK this was. I mean, if you want that, go ahead and let me know, okay?

Btw, if you're looking for the list of pictures and all the other stuff I used in this video, it's down at the BOTTOM. (except the few pictures that are spread throughout the rant)

Back to the video:

Okay, I have no idea why I started this off by introducing it as a nightmare. It fit the music, I guess... It was a freaking long time ago.

The first little spew of memories (where the drums, "Hellraiser Brigade" comes in) was... I don't know, me thinking "painful memories. Need painful memories." At least, that's what I'm assuming. As I already said, I don't entirely remember because it was so freaking long ago.

The next little lull focused mainly on this picture:

which can be found on deviantART here:
http://darkemmachan.deviantart.com/art/Namine-s-Tears-40702813?
art by Darkemmachan (who is now apelimandios) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PERMISSION!!

which I edited and added words to and all that.

The next spew of memories I think I focused mainly on fighting. Fighting and... Idk, I think I sorta just went with the images after that. Hmm.

I had this whole other rant prepared, but that requires me to use drumspeak so you know what part of the video I'm referring to, and drumspeak looks absolutely ridiculous when written out.

Anyway, the next little segment, with "Life Left to Go" by Safetysuit- Idk, I made that randomly one day, and I was like "what am I going to do with this? It's freaking lazy editing and wouldn't be good as it's own video" and then I thought "oh! I'll put it in the Meltdown Project!"

The whole idea behind it is that Riku calms her down for a moment, and it's all okay-

then the end happens.

I don't actually the first part of the end. It drives me nuts, and there's actually probably good reason for it, but I'll explain that in a second. (And it's probably not a GOOD reason, but it's definitely a reason)

Though, actually, maybe it's just that certain segment (I'll say which one in a sec) because as soon as this picture shows up:

Which, if you missed it, I drew myself. The base is by... oh gosh, I can't remember. Not something I can look up easily... oh well. It was drawn to sort of mirror this picture

which can be found on DeviantART through this link:
http://fennecriku.deviantart.com/art/I-Dont-wanna-feel-like-This-159328871?
Art by FennecRiku (and they mention who did the base)

from then on I really like where the video goes.

Which, btw, there is a little segment in there, which if you can figure out what is goign on it it, is actually SPOILERS!! just saying. Right there, in the middle of the video! Not perfect spoilers, obviously, just a rough idea of the scene (because Namine doesn't say any of the things I want her to say...)

And then the last spew of memories- well, I sort of just started cannibalizing every single segment I had for this video. The goal of the last bit was sort of just to make you go "What!?". It wasn't supposed to make sense. There wasn't any reason to it. Most of it was just that I was lazy and Transformers was distracting (I never want to WATCH the movie, but it's always on TV and my dad always ends up watching it and it's SO DISTRACTING. I'd move to another room, but by that time my little sister and my mom are asleep, and my room is so HOT.) But if it made you go "what!?" then I am satisfied with the result.

Though trust me, that was a lot of lazy editing at the end...

That's really about it...

TIME TO LIST ALL THE THINGS THAT I USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS!

And, because I feel like it, I'll list what I used them for xD

So, every single Kingdom Hearts game (minus 3D, which isn't out yet)
CoM - for most of the footage
KH2 - the glitchy memories and glitchy memory effect
KH1 - I know I used it somewhere... oh yeah! In the "Life Left to Go" portion. Duh!
Coded - that staticy screen. It's from Coded.
BBS - I used Vanitas's laugh
Days - Xion's scream (Japanese version)

Then I used... three VOCALOID videos. Or I planned to use three, I don't think I ever used Rolling Girl, though I certainly planned on it.

I did use Synchronicity: Paradise of Light and Shadow
(because it's easy to pass Rin from that PV for Namine) the main part was at 1:43. Most of those pictures are stills from the PV.
Credits for the PV:
Voice - Kagamine Rin and Len
Story - Hitoshizuku-P
Illust - Suzunozuke

I also used First Virus Resistance: Assault Chapter
Only, really, during the first slew of memories, at the very begining, then not again I don't think
Credits:
Voice - Kagamine Rin
Story - Minus-P
Illust - SHARK

I used First Virus Resistance: Drifting Chapter, but that was only for a couple of screams. I don't think I actually used any of the PV. If I did, I think the credits are exactly the same as listed above

There was some FF7:Advent Children in there. Not much; just two seconds of geostigma glitchyness that I used and then reused and then reused and reused and reused and reused. xD

Believe it or not, there was also a bit of audio from LoZ:Skyward Sword. Not kidding you. I used some audio clips of Zelda screaming. (I was desperate for those screams, you see)

Now... onto pictures. I listed two of them up there already. Wait! Three. I forgot the one that I drew =P

I can't post the ones from the CoM manga, because there are too many. Go to the original page if you REALLY want to see em all...

next is

ahh... can't find the file on my computer. Obviously was only saved on my old extern- HEY! I could download these pics from posterous, I think
yes I can!
So, next is:

which is an edited version of this picture

Drawn by ssceles, my absolute favorite deviant (see some of their pics, and you'll understand why)

There's

which appears in three different forms in the video. This, a focus on Repliku in the bottom left corner, and then an inverted focus on Repliku

I, uhh, actually don't know where this one's from. I mean, I found it in a video that was a bunch of Namiku pics set to "Ghost of You" by My Chemical Romance. Don't remember what it's called, but if you search "Riku and Namine Ghost of You" you're bound to find it.

I got this one from the video, too... so...

this one is drawn by the wonderful ssceles again
http://ssceles.deviantart.com/art/Repliku-Science-Experiment-137813496?
There are a lot of them that they've drawn of Repliku, it's actually a surprise that only two ended up in the Meltdown Project...

this is official artwork

and then the last three pictures I'm not uploading. You can find them in the original page on posterous, or if you REALLY want them, lemme know (I have THOSE three for some reason, and yet NOT the ones I actually WANT)
